The House of Sussurant Leaves is nestled on the gentle hills of Asti, between Langhe and Roero, the renowned Piedmontese heart of good wine and good food. But not only. In addition to the undisputed gastronomic culture, the territory of Asti offers a wide range of landscape and cultural possibilities, in an area still little beaten by mass tourism and therefore still unspoiled for many aspects.

The house is also located in a logistically strategic place, Antignano, a delightful town  Asti in the direction of Alba, famous for the cultivation of ottofile corn, an extraordinary product guardian of the farming history of our lands, a Slow Food presidium. It is a native corn variety abandoned over time as a function of mass industrial production, maintained by very few stubborn farmers right here in Antignano and now recognized nationally and internationally.

Antignano stands on the Roman remains of a settlement documented around 200 BC, in a landscape characterized by hazelnut trees, cherry trees and vineyards that make it a unique and unforgettable mosaic of colors and scents.  

Antignano is located on the banks of the Tanaro river, immersed in the Rocche park that runs alongside it and which is the setting for splendid trekking tours on foot, by bike, on horseback.

The area is a nature reserve of great environmental interest: the hilly landscape is characterized by vineyards, cherry and hazelnut trees, also renowned for the fishing reserve rich in fish species. On the banks of the river a pirogue of low medieval origin was found, today preserved, together with the Etruscan helmet and other archaeological finds, in the Museum of Antiquities in Turin.

The escarpment engraved by the watercourse is modeled in the form of gullies and sharp blades at the base, where clays and marls emerge like earth pyramids at the top formed by the Asti sands: these morphologies are analogous in genesis to the "Rocche del Roero ".

Today the Reserve is crossed by country roads shaded by oaks, poplars and willows with an interesting aquatic vegetation that gives hospitality to a rich fauna in particular with nesting of rare bird species.

Antignano is located a few minutes from the historic center of Asti, a city we love and where we will be able to guide you to discover unique corners of history. Furthermore, it overlooks the Alfieri Hills, antechamber of the province of Cuneo and its renowned Langhe.

A few minutes from San Martino Alfieri and Govone, increasingly known thanks to its Christmas event "The Magical Christmas Village", a winter container of events and initiatives for young and old that has been able to adapt to the needs of the territory and thus become always more famous.
